Enrolment Procedure
The academic year at Jamea Al-Kauthar corresponds with the lunar calendar, Shawwal – Shabaan (approximately October to August). Prospective students will be invited for an interview and school aged students will also be required to sit English, Maths and Science examinations to determine their academic ability.
Admission takes place in the month of Shawwal.
Only those applications are processed which meet the admission criteria. We endeavour to provide every applicant an equal and fair opportunity for admission as possible and viable to do so. All applicants that meet the minimum criteria required are invited to attend an assessment test and interview. At the moment the assessment test is only undertaken by prospective year 7, 8 and 9 students to determine their level attainment and key stage 3 ability. We do not admit students in key stage 4 meaning year 10 and 11 and neither do we admit students over the age of 20. All students once admitted to the Jamea are subject to a review of their application over the course of the academic year. Any student that fails to maintain the standard required of them in terms of attitude, behaviour, character, seriousness about their study, maturity etc. May have their application terminated during the year or not renewed at the end of the year.
We do not have any set criteria for overseas applicants at present and overseas students are not required to attend the interview but should be able to communicate effectively in the English language. All prospective overseas students must appoint a guardian or family friend as a contact in Britain who will take responsibility should any difficulty arise during the term of study.
The following documents are required with the application:
1. School & Madressah reports
2. Medical report from Doctor
3. Photocopy of birth certificate or Passport
4. S.A.T’s/GCSE/A level results
5. 2 character references
